Telecom
As community technology programs work to provide much-needed technology services to their communities, they often run into roadblocks to delivering access — especially in low-income communities.
Current telecommunications laws make it difficult and expensive for community-based programs to offer advanced technologies, such as broadband-enabled communications tools, and industry regulations require telecom companies to do little to improve broadband access and affordability in low-income/rural communities.
In order to ensure all people affordable access to information and communications technology — a key component of success in the 21st century — it is necessary to change current laws and regulations.
CCTPG is dedicated to advocating for policies that level the accessibility and affordability of technology-enabling services in the telecommunications field for all communities.
